Lanes 1 to 4 are lanes as per Main Club sessions at ULU.  D is Development squad and L is lessons.

All new swimmers should make their first session the QUEEN MOTHER SUNDAY one so that we can welcome you properly and assess the best lane for you to swim in.  If you know you need lessons you should go to the Lessons page on this website and apply as directed.

first timers

If you want to give Out To Swim a try, then please come along to a SUNDAY SESSION at the Queen Mother pool at Victoria so that we can welcome you, introduce you to a few fellow swimmers,  and allocate you to the lane which suits you best.  Unfortunately, if you arrive on any other night we will ask you to return on a Sunday session. Your first 3 sessions are free and we hope that you decide to come along again. When you arrive, ask at reception about Out To Swim, then look out for somebody with a list ticking off names and introduce yourself. We usually gather about 30 minutes before swim time and go to the changing rooms about 15 minutes before we begin.

how to join in

Please sign in before each session and do try to arrive at least 15 minutes before pool time. Unfortunately, when the pools reach capacity, those who were last to arrive might not be able to swim. Places are allocated on a first-come basis, so early arrival is strongly recommended, especially for our busiest sessions (currently on Tuesday and Saturday at ULU, and on Thursday at Oasis 7pm session).

Which lane will I swim in?

We have developed these benchmarks to describe what swimmers in each of the Development Squad and Main Club lanes will be able to do.  This will give you an idea of which sessions you will be able to attend, though the final decision on your lane rests with the Coach.
